23 Feb Desert Ridge Marketplace in north Phoenix undergoing $15 million makeover
Desert Ridge Marketplace, the behemoth shopping center off Loop 101 in north Phoenix, is undergoing a $15 million makeover, developers announced Thursday.
Renovations underway by Phoenix-based Vestar are a first for the center since it opened in 2001. The outdoor shops and restaurants include 1.2 million square feet of retail space as well as water features and fireplaces, according to the Desert Ridge website.
Vestar will give the shopping center a fresh look, update amenities and bring new tenants to serve north Phoenix and surrounding areas, said David Malin, vice president of acquisitions and development.
“As that community has grown, it’s our desire to grow with it,” he said.
